Don’t Make Me Over

It’s Friday and I’m quite happy about it. Feeling good despite the foul weather outside, which is cold and rainy. The temperature is supposed to drop somewhat during the night so if it keeps raining that will turn to ice. Once again I’m writing this on my very own newly different computer and still trying to figure out the various bells and whistles. Figured out the iTunes dilemma regarding my iPod and it was so easy I’m embarrassed by the fact that it had taken me so long to figure out. Almost lost my entire library if it weren’t for the ‘are you sure you want to delete your entire library’ balloon popped up.

It’s rainy like I said and I have George Harrison, ‘The Concert for Bangladesh’ on DVD. Right now it’s the Ravi Shankar bit so I could listen, it doesn’t required much more attention than that. I got the DVD for my brother Brian two years ago. I doubt if he ever watched it, or had the time to. This copy is via Netflix. That about sums up the evening. Bill is working on his computer and keyboards trying to sync up a music writing program, occasionally some gospel beats come through wafting over Ravi Shankar’s ragas. An interesting mix of music and religion, wouldn’t you say?

I got up on time today, did the usual shower, cereal and coffee thing and checked emails. It’s a routine and it works for me. And of course, soon after that, I was on the street headed to the bus stop where I found the bus waiting. Luckily the person before me was fumbling for change so that made the driver wait. If the person before had exact change or a pass I would have been screwed and forced to consider shanks mare as a viable mode of transportation. That phrase should be a blast from the past for those in the know. For those that aren’t, it’s cut n’ paste time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanks’_mare .

Work was quiet but busy. A few good looking guys came in for interviews. I’m pretty much sure that Wally has a thing for Stephen Daedalus the IT guy. Or maybe it’s the other way around. They come into work right after each other and they do tend to go to lunch at the same time. Wally I know is gay. He sets off my gaydar like the Alien in those movies about the space monster that couldn’t be killed. I think the movie was called, ‘The Space Monster You Couldn’t Kill’.

It’s none of my business really. I keep getting good feedback from my supervisors, Wally included. I suppose like Farrah Fawcett is now cancer free, I am Felicia free. None of those polluted mind games in this office. It really is relatively stress free. I did have to run an errand today, a run to the bank to deposit a five figure check. I didn’t mind and I think I proved that I could be trusted to do a bank run. And so everyone was happy.

Tomorrow I attempt to install a new burner into the computer. Rand thinks I can do it, so I’ll give it a whirl.

The groundhog didn’t see it’s shadow so it’s supposed to be an early spring, which I could’ve sworn we had in January already.
