Midafternoon Toast

Altered Images- Bring Me Closer. That song often pops up in my head when I walk down Washington Street and see a quote from babe Ruth stating that every strike out he has brings him closer to a home run

I did not sleep well last night. I wonder if it’s because I had a Coca-Cola around 5:30 6:00 last night which might have affected my sleep thanks to the caffeine. It’s really the only acceptable explanation. There was beer and wine and hard seltzer available and I probably would have been better off with one of those.

It seems I have been able to download google documents to this iPad, which might make my life easier or it could be a whole mess of trouble.

On the work front, I am dealing with someone who sent me a whole bunch of names and while posting those names, I have found that they had been posted already, but I don’t know that until after I do the fact and find out what I have just posted this could not be used

I have contacted the person that has sent me this information asking her to remove the names that have been posted already which she had offered to do in the beginning and now I am waiting for her to do just that

She is in Cupertino, California at another (group) fruit stand.
I’m starting to think using this iPad to do this documentation is not as ideal as I had hoped I might be better off just using my smart phone and dictate because this is a pain in the ass

End of dictation.

The iPad was the least of my worries. Kimberly, Janis and Violet were all out of the office. I don’t know how that happened but it happened. Yancy was in the belly of the fruit stand manning the controls, I was at my meager fruit stand.

Next week in the belly is where I’ll be. The other day or maybe it was last week I finally felt onboard. I was knocking things out of the box and went home with my head held high. That was a distant memory.

There was another list of names that I took care of but needed to know where they would be having their meetings. The woman who sent this group asked if I sent the confirmation email to so and so, and their partner. These two people were never mentioned before but I duly sent them the confirmation.

It seems she may have made a mistake or two but I never considered that she might have made the mistakes. Such is my self confidence that I always think I am the one making the mistakes.

I puttered through the afternoon after calling up Bill a few times and Mike on my lunch break. It helped somewhat. Mike picked up on my stress, noticing the fact that I was talking very fast. Manic I guess. Jimmy Chile walked by and was briefly reassuring. I had hoped we would have a moment to chat but it was not to be. There were a few names omitted in my earlier listing of ames so I was going through those, then re-editing that since I had some dates and times screwed up.

I wound up working until 5:30 which should have been overtime in another job but overtime requires authorization and I could not be bothered to seek it, so the last half hour I worked for free.

There was an on camera meeting that I was required to attend and it was pointless. It involved finding hazards. Each month various emplotees for this staffing agency need to submit 3 or 4 hazardous situations in the office or workplace that are to be sent to the staffing agency. It is ridiculous.

The fruit stands where I work are meticulous regarding things like that. I mean, things would get reported and taken care of faster than an email to the west coast. The other moronic part of the meeting was about expense reports and how to properly file them. I do not use expense reports since I do not have a reason to.

In any event, it derailed the train that I was trying to ride with regards to filling out these requests. By midafternoon I was toast.

The guy in the photo hopped a turnstile in Hoboken. He didn’t take the train, he just walked through the platform to the other turnstiles where he walked through even though he could have just walked from where he was initially. It was a harbinger as to how stupid the day was going to be.
