Friday afternoon, 1:12 p.m. October 7th. Lunch time, I am going outside to have a small cigar to smoke. It’s been very slow here in the office. I’ve done all of my work for the day and completed my tasks by 8:15 AM.

It’s making the day crawl, but it’s not so bad because I am happy to be working. Bill is in Pennsylvania, Mike is in Jersey City I am in Manhattan.

I have once again taken my spot, smoking my small cigar. It’s a beautiful day once again. These are probably the best days of autumn so far this week. It’s been quite enjoyable, and once again you have to go through hell to get to these lovely days.

Bill phoned me from a cigar shop near his job in Pennsylvania, asking me what type of cigars I would like. I told him and also requested that he get me a lighter. We’ll see about that. He’s also getting a cigar for Mike, I don’t know what kind. I suggested something, whether or not it happens, I don’t know.

Mike is coming over tonight, and I suppose we’re going to watch Frankenstein starring Oscar Isaac by Guillermo del Toro. We’ve been discussing it for a few weeks now; today is the day it’s finally being shown. I slept relatively well last night, woke up before the alarm clock decided to act other than lie there anxiously waiting for the alarm to go off

I was going to smoke a larger cigar than the one I am smoking now, but figured that since I took a half-hour break earlier, I probably shouldn’t stretch it anymore.

The day crept by with nothing much to do. I talked with Bill on the phone a few times. He was in Pennsylvania, killing time until his charter was going to start. Mark and John were in their office, and I visited them before yet another break. Apparently, Mark has to have a discussion about what it is I am going to do on those three days before Thanksgiving.

According to Mark, this was supposedly settled with me having those same days off as the fruit stand employees. But being under contract to another company, the decision lay with them. I’ve accumulated enough hours for personal time off, but I have no plans to take them for those specific days. Mark will be out of the office for the next two weeks, so who knows what will happen?

Now I am home, tired. Mike is here on the couch, Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein is on the TV. It was a long, slow day that took much energy today. I’m glad to just relax, with the only plan for tomorrow being a trip to the supermarket.

Mike’s spending the night and going to work from here tomorrow. That means he’ll be sleeping on and off throughout Saturday afternoon. I’m fine with that. A lazy weekend in November seems most agreeable.

That’s it for tonight. Half dictated, half typed.
