Nipple to the Bottle

Jesus it’s bloody hot. No really, it’s HOT. It was back to work for me again today and it wasn’t so bad. I do have to tell those that were searching for jobs for me to stop. Enough is enough, I am staying at McMann and Tate. At least for the time being. Of course having said that, the axe is probably being sharpened as I write.

The camera is still at the shop and the pc is still not accessing the internet. Juan may stop by, who knows if he can do anything. I might have had too high an expectation with his growing up computer savvy. Rand is busy with work and that’s cool. He has his own business so he must maintain that. Tonight a friend of his is on the Daily Show, Chris Paine. Rand and I stayed with him in San Francisco twenty years ago. He was nice enough to offer his floor for a few days. But that was when I had some dough and bought Rand a ticket to come with me. Oh all those years and dollars ago.

I heard from a friend at Wanker Banker who is doing my job, or at least one of my jobs. She asked me a question about something I used to do, telling me that Helen Devilakos’s assistant told her that I had set up an account for the Devilakos’s department and I used to do such and such for them. That was a bold faced lie that the assistant said. She was trying to cover her ass and the lie she told was simply not large enough to cover that ample derriere.

The friend emailed me and I was angry enough to call the friend in San Francisco and talk to her directly to set her straight. She was happy to hear from and wasn’t too surprised to find that the assistant in New York was lying. Today I saw Jamie from the New York office online and started to tell her about what was going on, when she interrupted (if that’s possible during an online chat) telling me she knew all about it and the problem was taken care of.

The San Francisco friend told me she was going to be in New York in a week or two with her boyfriend and would love to meet me for drinks. She is such a nice person that I plan to meet up with her. After all what’s a few drinks between friends?

McMann and Tate was pretty cool today. for me at least. I had the air conditioning vent pumping nicely by my desk. It turns out the rest of the office was nowhere near as cool as my desk was. I suppose that is one advantage of being isolated from most everyone. A few people commented on how cool it was by me, and I of course said that it was cool in most senses of the word. Word.
